CEO & Board Services

Expanding the talent pool for CEOs and directors is imperative. Recruiting qualified individuals and training them to serve in this new environment requires insight, creativity and finesse. Kenway meets this challenge with our CEO & Board Services practice. This is a dedicated team from the most senior ranks of the firm. Their work is with CEOs and in the board room, and their expertise is organizational leadership and governance. They conduct hundreds of director engagements every year, tapping talent from every corner of the globe. This work spans all ranges of organizational scale and purpose.

Each CEO search consultant offers specific industry and functional expertise and is a member of those corresponding practice teams. After determining a client¡¯s needs, our CEO recruiting consultants often team with colleagues who bring additional specific market knowledge and expertise critical for that search. When coupled with Kenway¡¯s global reach, this collaboration generates enormous horsepower for CEO & Board Services solutions. It fosters creativity and diverse ideas and access to the information that uncovers excellent candidates.

Among the customized services that we provide is a Corporate Governance Audit, for example, which involves the evaluation of a client¡¯s particular board policies and practices. The board¡¯s size, composition, functional balance, and director compensation plan is evaluated and compared with traits of industry peers, particularly in relation to current ¡°best practices.¡±  This evaluation is followed by a candid assessment of those areas that require attention.

It is our ability to help plan senior leadership models, combined with tools that minimize many of the ¡°unknown¡± factors in selecting individuals and our depth of resources, that results in the majority of our clients retaining us many times over for leadership engagements.

Kenway has long believed in the importance of including qualified individuals of different backgrounds among the candidates proposed for client engagements, and diverse candidates play an important role in the vast majority of our searches. Key assets in achieving these results include the Kenway consultants who comprise our diversity practice areas.

Should you be hiring the chief executive, filling public, private or non-profit board vacancies or building a board for a public company spin-off or emerging growth company about to go public, Kenway will deliver the best talent available.

Government

While the transition of a new government administration always brings new heightened levels of interest in government work from mid-level specialists and leaders from industry, the reality is, the Government Sector as a whole is now facing its most serious talent shortage crisis.
The Office of Personnel Management recently surveyed the government¡¯s most senior executives and found that nearly 42% were planning to leave the Federal Service in the next three years, and more than 61% in the next five years. While agency and department leaders understand that replenishing the SES (Senior Executive Service) ranks with high-caliber executives is vital to the continued success of their organizations, the solution to this challenge is not an easy task. A shrinking talent pool across all sectors means that government agencies will face fierce competition for talented executives from the private and nonprofit sectors.

Kenway International has successfully executed search assignments for nearly all key SES level positions.  We also deliver single and surge-hiring search efforts for mid-level leadership and specialists, through the LEVERAGE division, in compliance with all USC Title 5 recruitment protocols.  All of our services are listed and can be ordered via our GSA Schedule Contract vehicle 738X (Human Resources & EEO Services).  We also hold a government-wide Blanket Purchase Agreement for all of our services via one of the OMB designated government Human Resource Lines of Business shared service centers - which allows all government departments to issue recruitment task orders at will.

The Government Specialty Practice at Kenway International has continually set the standard for providing federal and state government departments and agencies with exceptional executives in the most difficult market conditions. Our ability to tailor our search process to conform to the exact needs of our clients, coupled with our unparalleled access to government and private sector leaders makes us uniquely qualified to assist Federal and State Governments in their recruitment needs.
Kenway International also provides human resource consulting services for leadership coaching and development, competency profiling, recruitment process consulting, as well as recruitment technology optimization services.  Our Government Clients include: TSA, SEC. FAA, FDA, FEC, FBI, GPO, DFAS, PCOB, Department of Education, Federal Housing Finance Board, Federal Reserve Board of Governors, US Capitol Police, US House of Representatives, Smithsonian, World Bank, IMF, Commonwealth of Virginia, State of Connecticut and State of Washington.

As the worlds largest and best known search firm for professional recruitment and human resource consulting, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your agency¡¯s immediate and future needs.
